About Us
My emphasis is on using 'heritage' or 'old fashioned' breeds of animals for meat, egg, and milk production. Animals are permitted to behave in natural manners, with plenty of exercise and sunshine in their daily routines. I want the whole nutrient cycle to be 100% safe for man, plant and beast, so all soil ammending is done with composted or certified/certifiable organic products. Biosecurity measures are practiced in order to prevent the types of health and food safety problems that occur in many conventional facilities. Each animal is seen and handled at least three times a day. If 'someone' doesn't look quite up to snuff, the cause is sought out and addressed, even if it means loss of income to the farm to do so. And yes, some of the animals may go to customers as 'pets', or as foundation stock for new farmers or 4Hers.
