About Us
For more than 100 years, the Severson family has been farming rolling hills in Wright County, Iowa and calling Grand View Farm and Ranch home. In 1996, Troy and Beth Severson began raising Horned Herefords with the goal of raising the cattle in a natural, low stress environment. In 2017, their son and daughter-in-law, Knute and Amanda, returned to the farm with a desire to bring the 100% grass fed beef raised on our farm to your table. We use less intrusive methods when working with our cattle. For example, we use real horse power instead of RPMs. By moving cattle on horseback, we do not expose them to large pieces of machinery and equipment, which in turn keeps their stress level low. That matters to you because the more relaxed and calm an animal is a the more likely you are to have a tender and flavorful piece of meat. We use intensive rotational grazing to not only maximize the feed value for our cattle but also capture carbon and heal our Iowa soils. Animals are harvested between 24-30 months, ensuring the beef is tender, flavorful, and well marbled. We invite you to taste the difference.
